Entries are now being taken for the 2011 NSW Beef Spectacular & Trade Expo Feedlot Trial. The objective of the trial is to evaluate the performance of teams of five animals in achieving the commercial requirements of Cargill Beef Australia's 100 day grain fed prgram.
In 2010 a total of 215 head from forty three teams, were run in the feedlot over 112 days before being processed at Cargills Wagga plant. Full feedback was made available on all steers.
The Land are opening entries from now until the end of September for you to nominate your interest by filling out the attached entry form. You do not have to nominate cattle until September, they just need to gauge your interest to determine the size of the feed yard at Jindalee.
The trial will be judged by Industry and Investment NSW staff ( DPI) and the latest technology available will be used by Cargill in the process.
If you are interested in nominating cattle for this please fill in the attached entry in as soon as possible and send back to Brett Tindal on the details below.
